ENORMOUS BENEFITS FROM A VEGAN, TENDENTIALLY RAW-FOOD DIET
I have been following your writings for about a year, and have benefitted enormously, repeat enormously, as far as my age old problem of varicose veins is concerned. I was eighteen years old when I had my first attack of phlebitis (inflammation of a vein), and from then on I have suffered a crescendo of pain and itching, two operations for the removal of saphenous veins, hard woodenous legs, having to bandage my legs during my periods, head-aches, nervousness, constipation, medicine to help the blood circulation, and glycerine for what we know it is for.
AN INCREDIBLE, AUTHENTIC LIBERATION
Not to mention aesthetics: livid blotches, small protuberances, horrible elastic stockings even in summer, trousers. Then only by changing my diet, a miracle; incredibly everything disappeared!
No more pains, aching and numbness, no more migraines, instead the pleasure of wearing a skirt showing one’s legs now completely rid of those obvious swellings that I had around the ankles.
What more can one say? A liberation! But it was even more than that, much more. And all just from modifying one’s life-style.
THE ANGIOLOGIST AND THE FERRARI
I had to tell the whole story to the renowned Angiologist that I went to since I was a child, crossing the whole of Rome for years and years, in order to have the veins hardened (with injections of substances into the varicose veins, that prevented them from dilating further). I still remember that on a valuable wooden bookcase in the study cum surgery, there was a very visible inscription plate of the Ferrari Club.
Would he believe me if I told him that I had been cured only with fruit and raw vegetables?
Perhaps, but with fruit and vegetables, doctors wouldn’t get very far, and at maximum they’d only be able to subscribe to the Fiat 500 Club!
I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO REAPPROPRIATE BOTH MY BODY AND MY MIND
And just think that I am qualified and hold a degree in Agrarian science, due to which I have already studied many of the things you talk about. I also have a vivid memory of my first scholastic visit to a slaughter-house. I remained upset for a month.
I don’t want to dwell on the issues; I only need to convey to you my deep sense of recognition, because at the age of 48, you made me reclaim both my body and my mind.
ONE MORE REASON FOR LOVING MY HUSBAND
And I love my husband even more than before, in as much as it was he who discovered you and right from the start insisted that I cooperate, convinced that a vegan diet could do the trick.
With affectionate greetings and with the hope of being able thank you personally at your next conference in the capital.
THERE ARE ALSO POPULAR REMEDIES FOR PHLEBITIS
thanks for your qualified and precious testimony.
Particularly important seeing that circulatory problems are a big problem, especialy amongst women.
I repeat that in order to counteract varicose veins, various herbal and naturopathic remedies exist, like using fresh ground up ivy leaves applied to the crucial areas 3 times a day, or the use of cabbage leaves, or frequent hot and cold water applications to the legs and the body, as well as cataplasmas (poultices) of mud.
BUT THE ONLY REAL CURE IS RADICALLY CHANGING ONE’S LIFE-STYLE
Phlebitis and varicose veins however remain a phenomena connected to digestive, hepatic and constipative intoxication. Only by radically improving life styles, can one sensibly modify one’s own blood formula, making it more fluid, so that it circulates more rapidly to vitalize all the cells of the organism.
THE PROFOUND MEANING OF STOPPING ALL ANIMAL PROTEINS
When one improves his nutrition by removing all animal proteins, it is not an extremist, adventurous gesture; nor is it a leap into the dark, as most people think and fear. The people who are actually continuously leaping into the dark, are those who take pleasure in insisting on the corpses of others. Removing animal proteins, means regaining control of yourselves, and of your own excessively fructarian-vegan organism; it means removing all inflammation from the liver and all the internal glands. It means finally allowing the immune system to direct the orchestra, instead of having it play like a beggar who dispenses a few bum notes from the corner of the street.
THE CRITICISM OF A KOUSMINIAN
Amongst the many letters that I receive, the huge majority of them positive and cordial, there are also some which are critical, which I think is inevitable. The latest, which I have to hand, is from a gentleman full of infirmities (unfortunately for him) who impassively follows the Kousine method, and without knowing a word about the history of hygienism, has preconceived notions against it, unjustly criticizes it and then judges those great masters of hygienism who did not live to ripe old ages.
Dr Kousmine was definitely an outstanding doctor in her time, and she deserves all respect. Her greatest limitation was precisely that typical of all good doctors devoid of hygienistic culture, who therefore remain encaged by the well known limits of medicalism, cure-mania and nutritional protein-mania.
HYGIENE AND GERONTOLOGY
I have already replied to him indirectly, saying that Shelton, Fry, Pritikin, Ehret, Kuhne and Lezaeta became hygienists or naturopaths tending towards hygienism, precisely because of their own serious previous pathologies, due to which they were already extremely adept just to survive as well as they did, so as to put themselves at the service of humanity and leave us with an inestimable capital of books and scientific knowledge. Thereafter, judging someone by the number of years they live, without including qualitative parameters, brings us to hurried and aberrant conclusions. The list of anonymous centenarian vegans, such as the Hunzas and the Vilacambas or celebrated ones like Bertrand Russell, Thomas Parr, Norman Walker and others, does not in any way fear comparison.
RIDICULOUS AND SENSELESS ACCUSATION
As far as the accusation of setting myself up as a guru who attracts his disciples with theses similar to biblical parables, really makes me laugh. Do I have to spend all day insisting that I’m not a doctor, I’m not a therapist, I’m not a hero, or a saint and even less a saviour. But I do ask myself what all this mania of labeling people at all costs, is all about, rather than just evaluating people factually.
TOO MANY RECOVERIES CREATE IRRITATION
The repeated recoveries are not ascribeable to myself, but only to the immune system of the benefitted patients, finally put back into working conditions.
Do you see, Roberta, where the problem lies. Probably I should throw letters like yours into the rubbish bin, so as to do a favour to these kinds of detractors.
The next engagement in the capital (Rome) will be the AVA conference (Association Vegetarian Animalist) on the 22nd of September, 2011.
